It's no secret that the school cafeteria is a vicious place. It has a strict social pyramid, bizarre unspoken rules and can be a strong source of anxiety for students who don't fall into one particular clique. With social media on the rise, the pressure to "fit in" has magnified over the years, increasing the presence of both bullying and depression in our youth. Today's world craves the direction of young social leaders who create resolutions to today's biggest problems. At 16 years of age, brave Natalie Hampton turned her negative experiences with bullying into a proactive resolution, she developed the app, Sit With Us. The app allows students to connect into lunch tables so they don't have to sit alone. There is no easy solution to bullying, but Sit With Us is a start to reintroducing community and compassion into today's school systems. The artists of MusEffect and Mini Muse 2017 were so inspired by Natalie's courageous act of kindness that we were compelled to create a PSA. Using dance, film and intention Muse Dance Media tells the story of Sit With Us, aiming to inspire the masses to implement the app into their educational systems this season.
